Camping/RV Travel
Several RV parks and campgrounds in the area provide travelers with a variety of choices for ‘roughing it.’ Whether you are right in town or commute a few miles out, you will find sites that offer views of Haines’ breathtaking scenery with optimal access to all your outdoor adventure interests. State parks located outside of town allow tent and RV parking. RV parks in and around town offer full service hook-up for RVs only while sites such as Portage Cove State Recreation Site, with scenic views of the Lynn Canal, provide tent camping for backpackers and bicyclists only.
Cook your freshly caught salmon on the grill; sit around the campfire and make new friends while you talk about the adventures of the day; or watch the midnight sun fade while you take in the scenery and realize your dreams of Alaska are now a reality.
Haines is accessible by vehicle via the Haines Highway or the Alaska Marine Highway System. Complete the route of the Golden Circle with State ferry connections to Skagway and Juneau.
