The 107 acre Sitka National Historical Park has well-maintained totem-studded trails and is within walking distance from the downtown area. The park is easily accessible and is a national treasure for all ages.
Sitka is in the midst of the finest sea kayaking country in the world. All skill levels can enjoy the pristine waters, forest islands and remote secluded bays. Kakaying is an excellent way to see the marine environment and experience outdoor adventure.
If you prefer to be in the water, dive into another world under nearby waterways to view Sitka’s diverse marine life. Though fall is the premier diving time, other seasons offer special opportunities to enjoy this underwater ecosystem.
